About Soothie

Soothie is a UK-based skincare brand operating through soothie.farm. We are the data controller for all personal information collected via this website.

If you have any questions or concerns about how we handle your data, please get in touch at info@soothie.farm and we will respond within 1–2 business days.

What we know about you

We only collect information that is necessary to run our business and serve you properly. Here is what that includes:

Purchase and contact details: When you place an order we collect your name, email address, delivery address and phone number. This is essential for fulfilling and communicating about your order.

Payment data: Payments are handled entirely by our secure payment provider. We never see or store your full card number at any stage.

Website behaviour: We track how visitors use soothie.farm — pages viewed, actions taken, time on site — through the Meta Pixel. More detail on this is in section 5.

Email correspondence: If you contact us or sign up to receive updates from us, we hold your email address and any content you share with us.

What your data is used for

Fulfilling orders: Your contact and address details allow us to process your purchase, arrange delivery, and handle any returns or refund requests.

Customer communication: We use your email address to send order confirmations, dispatch notifications, and replies to any messages you send us.

Advertising measurement: The Meta Pixel helps us understand which of our ads are working and shows relevant content to people who may benefit from Soothie. We do not use this data for any purpose beyond our own advertising.

Marketing emails: If you have opted in, we may occasionally send updates, tips from Susie, and information about new batches. Every email includes an unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time.

Our lawful grounds for processing

Under UK GDPR we are required to have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. Here is ours:

Contract performance: Processing your order, arranging delivery, and handling any after-sales requests.

Legitimate interests: Running and measuring our advertising through the Meta Pixel in a way that does not override your rights.

Consent: Sending marketing emails, where you have actively opted in. You may withdraw this consent at any point.

How the Meta Pixel works on our site

We use the Meta Pixel — a tracking tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. — to measure how people interact with soothie.farm and to assess the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

The Pixel may collect data including your IP address, browser type, and the actions you take on our site such as viewing a product, adding to cart, or completing a purchase. This information is transmitted to Meta and processed under Meta's own Privacy Policy.

If you would prefer that your activity on soothie.farm is not used to personalise ads on Facebook or Instagram, you can manage this within your Facebook account under Settings → Your Facebook Information → Off-Facebook Activity.

We do not use any other third-party advertising or analytics tools on this website.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers. The only parties we share your information with are those necessary to operate our business:

Shopify: Our store platform processes order and payment data on our behalf as a data processor under their own data processing agreement.

Courier services: Your name and delivery address are passed to our shipping provider solely for the purpose of delivering your order.

Meta Platforms, Inc.: Pixel event data is shared with Meta for advertising measurement, as described above.

Every third party we work with is required to handle your data lawfully and in line with applicable data protection legislation.

Data retention

We hold onto order and contact data for as long as our legal and financial obligations require — ordinarily up to six years in line with HMRC requirements for UK businesses.

If you unsubscribe from marketing emails we will remove you from our mailing list promptly. We may retain your address on a suppression list to make sure we do not accidentally contact you in the future.

What you are entitled to

As a UK resident, UK GDPR gives you a number of rights over your personal data. These include:

Access: You can ask us to provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction: You can ask us to update or correct any data that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Deletion: You can request that we erase your personal data, subject to any legal obligations that require us to keep it.

Restriction: You can ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances.

Objection: You can object to us processing your data for direct marketing purposes or on legitimate interest grounds.

Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@soothie.farm. We will respond within 30 days.

If you feel we have not handled your data appropriately, you have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings at any time, though doing so may affect how parts of the site function.
